THE BARRIERS OF YOUNG ADULT IN INDONESIA TO INITIATE SME (SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISE)

Abstract

Nowadays, there are many of young adult graduated from differ education institutes and the rate is increasing yearly in Indonesia. The increment of the fresh graduate rate is a good sign of human resource for the country, however the increment of fresh graduate rates also influence the increment rate of unemployment in Indonesia. The subject entrepreneurship has been delivered through compulsory education and activities outside of compulsory education to embed the intention of entrepreneurship, however not many of the fresh graduates put action to the entrepreneurship intention or delay the realization action of it although the government has made several policies and subsidize program in respond of the problem. This research is held to discover the barriers or obstacle of the young adult towards the initiate an enterprise. The data is collected by interviewing the 5 of young adults that have an initiate entreprise but chose to delay the intention in area of Jabodetabek, Indonesia. In conclusion, the research found that several of the barriers have a low significance influence towards the problem and one strong significant influence towards the entrepreneurship intention in Jabodetabek, Indonesia. In This research, it is found that the law influence barriers are social and cultural attitude, entrepreneurship education and financial access with one mark from informants and the strong influence barrier is business assistance and support with three marks from informants.
