dc.description.abstract |
As the time goes by, the practice of diplomacy has developed. It is not only government to government, but it could be in a form of government to international society and this form of diplomacy is called as Public Diplomacy. The United States (US) is one of many countries which has applied Public Diplomacy since long time ago. Since the beginning of post cold-war, US implements Public Diplomacy in order to spread the value of democracy to international society. The US implements many form of Public Diplomacy and one of them is America Film Showcase (AFS). This thesis will discuss further regarding the implementation of AFS under Trump’s Administration as the author sees that its implementation is considered as not the main focus of Trump’s administration. To be more specific and giving moreevidence, the author will focus more on the implementation of AFS in Western European countries which the author considers that countries in the region already had long-term diplomatic relations with the US. |
