dc.description.abstract China’s Coercive Naval Diplomacy which occurs in the South China Sea has some effect on the international community in the Southeast Asia region, especially the Philippines. Aside from that conflict of interest, the Philippines had established some cooperation with China in infrastructure development through China’s Belt and Road Initiative. This research focusing on to what extent does the coercive naval diplomacy conducted by the Chinese government affect their economic and political relation with the Philippines. The purpose of this study is to learn from the conflict and hopefully would help the international community to find a middle ground to solve this issue without hurting the related countries. There will be shown some significant effect on China-Philippines economic and political relations due to the coercive naval diplomacy conducted by China. The method that the writer’s going to use is qualitative method. Observation and data gathering being conducted in six months of research. The findings of this thesis are with the different approach coming from the leaders of the Philippines towards China’s coercive naval diplomacy determine how it effect their political and economic relations with China. This result illustrates to what extent does China’s coercive naval diplomacy in the South China Sea affects their economic and political relations with the Philippines en_US
