Brexit was one of the biggest political event in the last decade in Europe. The result of leaving the European Union would have to create some effects on an economic and political level in the United Kingdom. The economy would be affected due to leaving the Single Market of which are beneficial to Scotland economy, whereas politically due to the devolution governments have EU law rooted on their creation, in the aftermath of Brexit the United Kingdom was predicted to have a downturn after leaving the European Union. This research uses complex disparities as its theory to analyse the relationship between Scotland and the European Union, whereas the economy is analysed through the macroeconomic indicator from 2016 to 2019. The research finds that economically Scotland is in a stronger position than the previous years, whereas politically, there was no significant change that would affect the Scottish government's running. |
