Using Gastrodiplomacy is of the components of public diplomacy and cultural diplomacy that strives to form a positive image in the international world with the use of food as a tool of negotiation and this becomes a new term in diplomacy over the world. Republic of Korea( ROK) as one of the middle power countries wants to increase the country with the promotion of its traditional food to some country and the Republic of Indonesia (RI) becomes the target for the promotion of Korean Food. To promote traditional food the ROK government made an institution under Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs as Korean Food Foundation to support and promote Korean food to global. This Thesis such an important topic to know because that can get to know more about relations of Republic Korea and Indonesia. The author uses several research of literature of public diplomacy, cultural diplomacy as the primary concepts for giving understanding to international visitors about a country's culinary culture and, in the context of this thesis, to learn about food, the term of gastrodiplomacy, and brand image This thesis analyses how the Republic of Korea wants to increase its reputation in other countries which focus on how the Republic of Korean promote their traditional food in Republic of Indonesia 2015-2019. And use the qualitative research method is use books, jornals, articles, the time frame is chosen because during that time the promotion of Korean traditional food in Indonesia was taking place in conjunction with an event hosted by the Republic of Korea government in Republic Indonesia. |
