dc.description.abstract Purpose - The purpose of this paper is to find the barriers of student loan in Indonesia to create the better student loan in future. Design/methodology/approach – This research use qualitative research. The research collect the data trough interview with 4 key informants. This research analyze using case study synthesis method. Findings – The researchers found that the barrier in Indonesia are also same that happen in other countries, especially in the student loan repayment. Most of them still doesn’t have the strict regulation to make the loan repayment run smoothly or on time. This is the most important thing because if most of the student default, the student loan can’t be continued since it’s impossible for the government or provider to keep giving the money without the limited amount. Originality/value – This research is the first research, which is learning about student loan barriers in Indonesia that also seeing from the perspective of the university, student loan provider, and the student. en_US
