dc.description.abstract This research has a purpose to get the understanding of transition in film editing that can bring narrative and expose cinematic of the film art. The method focuses on reviewing films and books regarding film editing, which brings result to 4 main transition; The cut, The dissolve, The fade, and The wipe. This research concludes that in delivering messages through film and establish narrative and cinematic in the film, transition should be put when the shot has information, motivation, shot composition, camera angle, continuity, and sound to make a good edit and capable of knowing when shot can be using transition to another shot accordingly. en_US
