IMPROVING THE PRODUCTION OUTPUT OF BUSBAR IN PT. AHY

Abstract

The main objective of this study is to identify the problems which cause the panel production does not meet the demand: the capacity is below standard. This would affect the costomer to move to another company and this would reduce the annual sales of the company. The other main goal is to solve the problems in order the company could meet the demand. Observation and interview were employed to collect the data at PT AHY Indonesia and after analyzing them, it was found that due to the long setup time the production of panel do not meet the demand. Setup times is period required to prepare a device, machine, process, or system to produce the panel. By improving the setup time, there is a significant improvement in production output which is 63% and this data is based on 93% performance and the 2- shift working time. If the performance reach 96% - 98%, the production ouput will increase and reach the demand.
