dc.description.abstract Quality of product becomes the most important indicator in the machine performance. The quality of product level can be measured by the number of defect products which are happened during the production process. From January 2015 until August 2015, the average percentage of defect tile reaches 3.74%. From several defect tiles which are happen, the crack defect tile become the most occur defect in the production process of kiln machine. In order to decrease the number of defect tiles, DMAIC is conducted. This method includes several phases which are define, measure, analysis, improvement, and control phase. After DMAIC was conducted, there were two improvement actions that can be applied to the kiln machine which are changing the combustion system and fixing the work instruction of the kiln machine startup. In January 2016, these improvements are conducted and the result is reported in January 31th 2016. The result shows the number percentage of the defect tile is decrease 8.97% compare with before improvement also, the number of the crack tile is decreased 8.69%. en_US
