dc.description.abstract Producing the product with good quality will be an important thing for a manufacturing company. In the way to create the product with high quality and innovated, PT. X do the testing process to ensure the product is minimum of defect. Not only the product itself, but the company also provide sufficient capacity. The product that will be tested is called as trial product. After the product has been tested, there will be a final report that will be released on 3 or 4 days. However, there are several units of submission that the report is released later than 4 days in a certain period. After conducting an observation and analyzed using fishbone diagram, there are several possibilities which may affect in the lateness. One of the possibilities is the utilization is still low since there is over required capacity. Thus, there are scenarios to overcome the lateness by using Wagner Whitin lot sizing. The first scenario is by making the over required demand being the inventory and the second scenario is the demand’s quantity will be on average. The utilization and the cost of the scenarios will be compared and the best one will be chosen and applied for the forecasting demand by using linear cyclical method in year 2016. en_US
