APPLICATION OF THE OBJECTIVE MATRIX METHOD IN ANALYZING THE PRODUCTIVITY OF FROZEN CHAYOTE VEGETABLES AT PT PLASMA USAHA MITRA SELARAS

Abstract

Productivity is one of the most important aspects of a company. By measuring and analyzing, companies can find out whether the level of productivity is increasing or decreasing. PT Plasma Usaha Mitra Selaras is a company engaged in manufacturing, with the flagship product for the 2020 period is frozen chayote. It was found that in 2020 the company could not fully meet the demand for frozen chayote vegetables. For this reason, it is necessary to evaluate the company's productivity. This study will discuss how the productivity level of chayote vegetable production during the period January to December 2020 using the Objective Matrix method. The measurement criteria used are the productivity of raw materials, labor, working hours, and the percentage of production targets. The results of measurement and data analysis stated that the highest productivity level occurred in July, namely 975 with a productivity index of 225%. Then the lowest productivity level occurred in May of 26.3 with a productivity index value of -91.23% and September of 73.7 with a productivity index value of -75.43%. Then to find out the cause of the decline in productivity using the Fishbone Diagram. Factors causing the decline in productivity are the number of damaged or rotten raw materials, low working hours efficiency, and low worker efficiency.
