Abstract:
This article explores the role of photography as a powerful communication medium in
conveying messages related to environmental issues, focusing on the impact of plastic waste
on the environment. The study investigates how visual storytelling through photography can
effectively raise awareness, engage, and inspire action to address the growing plastic pollution
problem. The article also evaluates the effectiveness of photography as a communication
medium by examining public responses and reactions to the images. The impact of the
photographs on raising awareness, triggering behavioral changes, and catalyzing policy
discussions is assessed. Finally, the article concludes that photography as a communication
medium can be maximized by developing targeted campaigns, encouraging citizen journalism,
and fostering a culture of environmental responsibility.
