The primary aim of this causal-comparative quantitative study is to explore the combined effects of age and hierarchical rank
on communication quality and employee engagement within corporate settings. A total of 150 corporate employees
participated in this research, selected using convenience sampling methods. The research instruments employed included an
age scale consisting of 18 items with a reliability score of 0.888, a hierarchical rank scale comprising 14 items with a
reliability score of 0.812, a communication quality scale with 22 items and a reliability score of 0.908, and an employee
engagement scale consisting of 23 items with a reliability score of 0.858. Hypothesis testing was conducted using Two-Way
MANOVA. The findings indicate that there is no significant influence of age on either the quality of communication or
employee engagement (H01 and H02). However, there is a significant influence of hierarchical rank on both the quality of
communication and employee engagement (Ha3 and Ha4), suggesting that position within the organization plays a critical
role in these dynamics. This research highlights the importance of considering both demographic and structural factors in
enhancing organizational communication and engagement strategies. |
