A PROJECT TO DEVELOP KNOWLEDGE AND AWARENESS OF SEXUAL HARASSMENT THROUGH THE IMPLEMENTATION OF EARLY SEX EDUCATION FOR FEMALE STUDENTS AT SMPN 1 PURWAKARTA

Abstract

Sexual harassment is a growing global issue, particularly among teenagers. This social project aims to enhance students' knowledge and awareness of sexual harassment through the implementation of sex education. The activities were conducted at SMPN 1 Purwakarta using a semi-talkshow approach, educational video screenings, role-playing simulations, and poster creation with the theme "Stop Sexual Harassment," in collaboration with psychology experts. This program also supports Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) number 4 on Quality Education. The theoretical framework of this project includes Sigmund Freud's theory, which highlights the importance of psychosexual development. The methodology employed encompasses several planning stages, including pre-project preparation and post-project evaluation through survey feedback. The results demonstrated an improvement in students' understanding of sexual harassment, increased courage to report incidents, and positive impacts within the school environment. This project could serve as an initial step in normalizing sex education in Indonesia, creating a safer environment and preparing students for a more mature phase of life.
