International trade is one of the most dynamic sectors influencing Indonesia's
economic performance. The United States, as one of Indonesia's largest trading
partners, has implemented various tariff policies that directly impact Indonesia's
export performance. This research examines international trade and export
performance by analyzing the influence of US import tariffs on Indonesia's export
value with five fundamental sectors, furniture, electrical equipment, textiles, steel,
and palm oil. Using a quantitative approach, this study utilizes secondary data
from 2015 to 2024, which is analyzed by SPSS to test the statistical relationship
between tariff policies and export performance. The results show a significant
influence of US import tariffs on Indonesian exports, with two sectors
significantly affected by this policy. This research broadens understanding of how
tariff policies can affect bilateral trade performance and provides input for
policymakers and business actors to strengthen Indonesia's export competitiveness
in the US market. |
