Abstract:
For years, regions across Indonesia from Sabang to Merauke have been known for its own cultural diversity. This diversity mostly created by multidimensional factors starting from natural resources, climates, religion, and history. In practice, this translates and manifested into lots of forms. It come in a form of dances, houses, religions, languages, and to certain extent, foods.
In most cases, regions utilize this comparative that they have from those diverse natures to gain benefit and capital. In specific, this project circulates around the aspect of culinary business, where local societies have each local food that being sold to tourists as an effort to gain capital and tourist to their regions.
The problem is, these types of original local foods are dwindling at the current moment. They are starting to be replaced by the common foods coming from outside of the region, creating culinary business and claim that they are the local special foods in the areas. This resulted to the declining of businesses actually representing the value of the areas, and instead only focusing on getting more customers. On the other side, writers found that culinary businesses revolving around local values are becoming a good opportunity for business due to the increasing hype looking at the reactions of tourists when they come to certain areas.
For that reason, writer have decided to create its own culinary business that will focus on not only gaining profit but will also tries to reflect the local food of the region, by using materials that come from the local resident’s daily activity. This business is named Renita’s Bakery. It is a business that focuses on creating and distributing products like cakes, pudding etc, created with pumpkin as its main ingredient. The pumpkin that are going to be used are not just any pumpkin, but organic pumpkins extracted directly from the local farms around the areas.
Renita’s Bakery needs IDR 300.000.000; for the capital and that will be opened in Medan, North Sumatera. It will start as micro, small and medium enterprises that look forward to develop and expand its field. In the process of operation, Renita’s Bakery will adhere to the local and national rule of law that applies, in order to achieve its optimum support. In terms of company-labour relations, Renita’s Bakery will follow the regulation existing in the current law in order to ensure the safety and the wellbeing of the labour.
The main goal of this business is not only to settle in Medan. Instead, it strives to expand to all over Indonesia, establish relationships with pastries, campuses, and other parties that could have parts, but most importantly, the main goal is to be able to provide the best representation of local culinary of Medan.
