TYPEFACE DESIGN ADAPTED FROM BATIK SHAHO MOTIF TO SUPPORT THE PROMOTIONAL MEDIA OF TOURISM IN EAST KALIMANTAN

Abstract

This thesis project content the process of how to adapting the motif from Batik Shaho into Latin typeface. The project aims to add more Indonesian culture creation, specifically from East Kalimantan, to applicable art. It also makes East Kalimantan has typeface that represent the place. The methodology used is qualitative by interviewing and some kinds of researches. So that the results is implemented in various media. In this project, the typeface will be applied in media promotion of East Kalimantan to show the uniform design and characteristic of East Kalimantan. Hopefully, this typeface can contribute to developing the ethnic typeface from Indonesian culture.
