dc.description.abstract There are many film editing methods nowadays to combine shot cuts into a single unit and of course also to convey the message that the filmmaker wanted to convey to the audience. Classical cutting is a method of editing that is quite practiced by filmmakers. This study focuses on finding out whether classical cutting can construct dramatic effects in films using close-ups and/or extreme close-ups. The result is that we can build the desired dramatic effect and convey the feelings that the characters experience in the film to the audience so that the audience can feel the tension the characters feel. en_US
