Abstract:
This thesis is explored the United States and China's relations on economic trade and also the political-economic interest of the United States towards Trade Deficit and the Trade War with China along the period 2009-2020. This research using the concept of hegemonic stability power and Interdependence to explore the situation that happens between the United States and China. In this thesis, the author will compare in detail the trade cooperation policies of the United States and China during the two presidencies, namely Barack Obama and Donald Trump. The data collection technique is done by taking literature from various sources, such as official government websites and news circulating on the internet. According to research during the Barack Obama administration, the United States experienced a very large trade deficit, but Barack Obama still saw opportunities and good results if he continued the trade-economic cooperation with China. On the other hand, during his presidency, Donald Trump chose to start a trade war that caused many losses to the international community just to achieve the national interest of the United States.
