The creation of the motion graphic video series is using the Sitepu’s (2004) theories about design principles, Thomas and Johnston’s (1981) 12 animation principles, French’s (2017) tips on creating a successful motion graphic, Interaction Design Foundation’s (2019) theories about flat design, Martin’s (2018) theories on application of flat design for infographics, and taking cues from Magnamesia’s (2012) and Koto et al.’s (2016) study on utilizing multimedia to convey astronomy, alongside with study on motion graphic Youtube Channels Kurzgesagt, Ted-Ed, Facts in Motion, and Kok Bisa. Research on SIRIUS Astronomy Club from SMAN 89 also held for getting information on target audience’s preferences, which are Indonesian Senior High School students aged 14-18. All of these studies resulted in “Pengen_Tau” astronomy motion graphic video series, and succeed in delivering the astronomy science through multimedia in a form of motion graphic video for the target audience. en_US
