Abstract:
The emergence of bio-energy in Indonesia in the early 2014 makes Indonesia
aware towards the significance of new and renewable energy. In Jokowi’s regime
Indonesia welcome the public and private partnership to invest in Indonesia to
improve its sustainable environment with bio-energy based power generation.
This research conducted to see the importance of Solcofin’s role as one of the
Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) in supporting Indonesian sustainable
environment. The research is conducted with qualitative research method and
examined the role with several concepts and theory; naming: green liberalism,
sustainable environment and non-governmental organization. The research aimed
to elaborate the role of Solcofin from helping Indonesia to improve and make the
renewable energy policy to implementing renewable energy policies and
regulations in Indonesia. Therefore, the role of Solcofin are supports and
develops the Presidential Regulations that has been discussed earlier with other
IPPs in Biomass Bioenergy Asia Summit. Moreover, making the roadmap of
Indonesia power generation that will be submitted to PLN’s Power Generation
Business Plan Development (RUPTL) and implementing the regulations through
partnership with other NGO’s as the technology support or biomass supplier for
the power plants.
