Abstract:
The Civil Wars in Central America has taken another turn for the homeland security on the region. The growing threat on the region has caused by the growing of organize crime on the region. The weak of law enforcement toward the gun ownership become the core problem of trafficking in the region. Mexico has received the biggest damage from the issues of trafficking on the region. The challenge of Firearms Trafficking on the region has triggered Mexico to seek an assistance to countermeasure the issue on the region. On 2008, in perceiving the same threat, Merida Initiative has established between United States of America and Mexico in order to counter firearms trafficking that violated homeland security on the region. This thesis aims to explain the Implementation of Merida Initiative in countering the Firearms Trafficking on the regions.
