Abstract:
Foreign policy is the method on how a state engage with other countries. Foreign policy is the tools for a state to obtain its national interest. Since the early 20th century, the Middle East and North Africa region has become a region where the United States of America has vested its interest. The United States also have a vital interest in the region. To secure that interest, the United States will require the right foreign policy. Though, it is not only the national interest that define the foreign policy strategy, there are also several other factors that influence it. To achieve the interest, the foreign policy will need to be implemented. However, how it is not actually implemented as it is written on paper. Based on that, this research would like to study on how the United States of America implements its foreign policy strategy in Arab Republic of Egypt during Arab Spring in the period of 2011 to 2012. In understanding the implementation of the United States of America during Arab Spring in Arab Republic of Egypt, will be viewed under the perspective of national interest and implementation theory. It is to understand why the policy is implemented and what is the deciding factor upon creating the policy.
