Abstract:
The fatherless phenomenon that occurs among female students of President University.
Fatherless is when the influence and presence of a father is absent in a child's life. Based on
the observations made, the researchers found a phenomenon where fatherless women find it
difficult to get along with the opposite sex because they are afraid of being abandoned, so they
are afraid to fall in love or start a relationship with the opposite sex. The purpose of this research
is to find out the attitude of this fatherless daughter in having a love relationship. The method
used in this study is a qualitative method using secondary data. The findings of this study
suggest that the role of the father has an impact on how fatherless women perceive potential
life partners. This is evidenced by the cognitive aspect of the study, which found that women
who are fatherless due to divorce have a more negative perception of potential spouses who
have experienced trauma because of their fear of finding partners who are similar to their
fathers. The behavioral aspect of activities when a guy wants to approach tend to be low
because they are uncomfortable and irritated, and from the affective aspect of bewilderment
and dread in choosing a prospective life mate tend to be high. However, many do not take the
time to choose the right candidate for a life partner.
