Abstract:
Endless attractiveness of Indonesia-Malaysia bilateral relations is ascribed of the history that has been etched for a long time and the prospect of a bright future that expected to both countries. As the relationship between the two countries experience significant growth, the problems are growing too. Among all the problems that exist, transboundary haze is one of the most complicated and thorny issue as it requires country's real commitment to solve the problem. Not only has created economic losses, it is also often led to high tension between the two countries. This thesis attempts to analyze the roles of KRA Group (Karim Raslan Associate Group) as an international business consultant in assisting its client and bridging Indonesia-Malaysia government on the 2013 ASEAN transboundary haze issue. This thesis is significant in providing detailed information and analysis of KRA Group's strategic engagement and outreach programs in assisting Sime Darby neutralizing its image after wrongful accusation towards Sime Darby's subsidiary. This thesis is also significant in providing information if KRA Group's involvement in bridging Indonesian-Malaysian government and in cover up important information for the sake of the law enforcement related to the deforestation activity. Field research method is mainly utilized in accessing and gathering all data in this thesis as the researcher has the opportunity to conduct his internship period at KRA Group. Internet research however was also utilized in completing necessary data and analyzing historical records. The results of this thesis will explain how KRA Group as an international business consultant through its strategic engagement can effectively assist its client while bridging Indonesian-Malaysian government in 2013 ASEAN transboundary haze issue.
