Abstract:
Highly populated areas like Tanjung Priok is particularly vulnerable to fire events,
which emphasise the significance of fire safety education for all age groups,
including children. However, the effectiveness of current programs are limited
because they primarily target adults, while those for children frequently prioritise
entertainment over practical skills and lack hands-on practice due to safety
concerns. 7KLVVWXG\VXJJHVWVDQLQWHUDFWLYHGLJLWDOVWRU\ERRNWKDWXVHVWKH+HUR¶V
Journey framework to cast the children as the main character to help teach children
aged 7-11 years old in Tanjung Priok about this matter. Children learn best through
engagement and emotional connection, which is why the storybook uses decision-
making elements and repeating, captivating exercises. Result indicate that this
method improvise understanding, memory recall, and readiness for fire-related
scenarios, providing more efficient substitute for conventional fire safety
instruction.
