Abstract:
The United States Rebalance Policy to Asia has been the source of fascination since its announcement in 2011. Explicitly acknowledging the critical importance of the Asia Pacific and citing the winding down of the wars in the Middle East, the U.S plan to "rebalance" U.S. attention toward planning for future challenges and opportunities represented in the Asia-Pacific region. The rebalance consists of three major elements or pillar: military, diplomacy and economic engagement. The particular focus of this research is centered on the economic pillar of the U.S rebalance. One of the component of the economic pillar is Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP), an ambitious free trade agreement arrangement which aims to raise standard in the trade agreement and become the framework for Free Trade Agreement of Asia Pacific (FTAAP). This thesis will provide the general scheme of the U.S rebalance but highlight the economic pillar of the aspect that is TPP. The result of this thesis is identifying how the U.S implements TPP as its economic strategy.
