Abstract:
“The International Human Rights Law: The Six Grave Violations Against
Yemeni Children During The Yemeni Civil War (2015-2017)”
After Ali Abdullah Saleh resigned from his position as the President of Yemen
and replaced by Abd Rabuh Mansur Hadi in 2012, there were many oppositions
towards his political decision which heated up and leading to 2015 as the starting year of Yemeni civil war. During the three years Yemeni civil war, there were reports regarding the six grave violations against Yemeni children committed. The six grave violations against children during armed conflict were identified through the Office of the Special representative of the secretary General for Children and Armed Conflict which consisted of recruitment and use of children, killing and maiming of children, sexual violence against children, attacks against schools or hospitals, abduction of children and denial of humanitarian access. This research is trying to analyze each of the six grave violations and the findings of violations during the three years of Yemeni civil war, by using International Human Rights Law as it applicable during peace and war time which fit to Yemeni civil war while referring to United Nations Convention on the Rights of Child which has been signed and ratified by Yemen.
