in Combating Avian Influenza in Central Java, Indonesia (2006-2009)

This research analysed about how the UNICEF contribute in combating avian
influenza issue in Central Java, Indonesia. Avian Influenza is one of the most
dangerous virus in the world which categorized as one of the global issue. Avian
Influenza affected not only on adults but also children. This health issue is certainly
an important issue in children rights, which also being an important issue in
neoliberalism perspective. In handling this case, UNICEF acts as an intergovernmental organization which is certainly one of the international organizations
as explained in the neoliberal institutionalism theory. UNICEF tried to help this
issue by focusing on children as the main target. Regarding this, the contribution of
UNICEF in combating avian influenza could represent the implementation of
children rights, which is existed in the neoliberalism theory, the international
organization in the neoliberal institutionalism theory, and health diplomacy.
UNICEF created the ‘Take Action against Bird Flu’ campaign and also the avian
influenza prevention kits to combat the avian influenza issue in Central Java,
Indonesia. These programs then appearing the reduce number of victims in children
by the following years.
