Abstract:
Films have several stages in the production process. The main and
most basic stage is pre-production, which is the initial concept of
forming a film. In pre-production, the most important process is the
search for story ideas which will then be written into a scenario. A
scenario is a series of sequences of scenes, circumstances, places,
and dialogues. In a series of scenes, conditions, places, dialogues,
and other elements of the film, something that is quite important to
pay attention to a planting of information, namely planting
information that is implanted in the course of the story and the payoff
that must be paid from planting that information. Embedding
information can be given in the form of objects, places, dialogues,
actors, songs, and other film elements. In the development of the
story, there is a three-act structure, opening, middle, and ending.
The opening section is a very appropriate part to embed
information and pay-off the information in the ending section so
that the audience will not feel cheated by any information that we
have previously implanted. In this research, I want to apply the
planting of information and pay-off techniques to the fictional film
scenario "Panggilan" to break the domination of the audience in
guessing the storyline.
