Abstract:
PT DSLNG (Donggi-Senoro LNG) is a joint venture company between Indonesia, Japan,
and South Korea that operates in LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) sector. DSLNG project is
established on the basis of mutually beneficial relations between the countries involved. The
development of this project, which is engaged in the energy sector, is considered beneficial for
Indonesia in achieving the national interest in this field. This research is important to make sure
that the involvement of foreign parties in this Indonesian mega LNG project brings positive
benefits for the development of national energy sector.
The area of this research covers the role of Japan and South Korea in DSLNG project, the
achievements of DSLNG project during the implementation, and how the development of this
project contributes to Indonesian national interest in the energy sector. This research draws upon
secondary data sourced from official documents of PT DSLNG as a research object, as well as
books, journals, reports, and news media. This study found that the development of PT DSLNG as
a joint venture company between Indonesia, Japan, and South Korea has contributed to Indonesian
national interest in the energy sector. Therefore, it is important to maintain the positive
performance of this company in order to strengthen its existence as an effective tool in achieving
strategic benefits to improve Indonesian energy sector, especially LNG field.
