Abstract:
The issue of maritime conflict between Indonesia and China in Natuna Island has become one of the threats for Indonesian sovereignty. Therefore, Indonesia government especially in the Jokowi Presidency has established various foreign policies strategy as a dispute settlement approach. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the Indonesia foreign policy strategy under President Jokowi especially during its first period. Furthermore, in order to elaborate the study case this study using indirect balancing theory by Evelyn Goh and foreign policy analysis as it conceptual framework. This study uses a qualitative research method by focusing on the analysis of secondary data related to the issue of Natuna Island in the South China Sea. As a result, this study finds that Indonesia foreign policy in Jokowi has a diverse approach in term of in unilateral, bilateral and regional level strategies.
