Abstract:
This research discusses the problem of haze in diplomacy relations between Indonesia and Malaysia. The purpose of this research is to analyze the occurrence of how haze give an impact on relations between Indonesia and Malaysia. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. In writing, the writer uses primary and secondary data. Primary data from Indonesian government official document, while secondary data came from book, journal, newspaper media, internet and article. The frameworks used in this thesis are foreign policy, national interest, and diplomacy. The authors find, whether the haze becomes a troubling issue when viewed from the national interests of both countries, but not to the cooperation in various fields between Indonesia and Malaysia. To solve the haze issue Indonesia and Malaysia went through cooperation with confrontation step. This is evidenced by the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on haze pollution. This argument is formulated with the analysis of haze issue in Indonesia, Indonesia and Malaysia policies in response to haze issues. And the role of ASEAN in finding a way to overcome the haze between Indonesia and Malaysia by forming Asean Agreement Transboundary Haze pollution.
