Abstract:
China’s animation industry has grown significantly in the past years, especially in 2016, when China's ACG became popular in Indonesia. Popular culture also became a crucial factor in the internationalization of China’s animation industry in Indonesia, especially among the youth in Indonesia. Globalization also extends the area of internationalization of China’s animation industry in Indonesia by reaching various platforms on the internet. The popularity of China's animation industry is also pushed by the nation’s interest and the target country’s culture. In order for China to internationalize the animation industry, the policy needs to be analyzed and the partnership between China and Indonesia is also an important aspect for internationalization. This thesis focuses on China's policy in the internationalization of China’s animation industry by using Soft Power, Public Diplomacy, and Globalization for the theory. The methods used from performing qualitative data analysis in China’s policy from the macro (national interests and foreign policy) and micro scale (industrial and investment policy). Along with a quantitative data method on the survey analysis in order to help finalize the thesis. In the last part of the thesis, it can be concluded on how well the theories are related and supporting China’s policy in the internationalization of the animation industry among youth in West Java.
