Abstract:
Purpose: This paper examined which factors of the games influence consumers
intention to play and pay for them, which related with of Console games’ players
behavior in Indonesia.
Design/Method: The method was a field research survey conducted with 350 player
console games, and structural equation modeling was used to test the hypothesis.
Finding: The results show that time flexibility, challenge, competition, diversity and
social intention give a significant influence on costumer intention to play and pay.
There is no significant effect found based on hypothesis arousal, fun and fantasy on
costumer intention to play and pay. In addition, from the result, the factors that have a
major impact on one's motivation to play are social interaction, diversion and
competition, these factors can be considered by game developers in game industry.
Originality/Value: This research replicate the framework of previous existing
research, but the researcher differentiates this research by focusing research console
games’ players’ behavior in Indonesia, against the intentions to play and to pay.
