Abstract:
Students in college are expected to be self-sufficient and develop problem-solving
abilities. When faced with a difficulty, they will undoubtedly seek all possible
solutions, including consulting with friends, all of the many institutions on campus,
and even the Academic Advisor, who serves as the student's father on campus.
Even though many students do not value it, an academic advisor is extremely
important since interacting with an academic advisor on a variety of difficulties allows
students to take the appropriate steps.
This research proposes the implementation of Content-Based Prioritization Index
to a Messaging System of Academic Consultation of the President University E-
campus. It aims to bridge the Academic Advisor–Student relation to improve
Academic Advisor’s time efficiency replying to messages, as well as enhancing
Student’s academic quality. The system works by automatically categorizing incoming
messages received by a Academic Advisor depends on the Consultation Subject sent
by the Student. This enables the Academic Advisor to prioritize and respond to the
messages more promptly and accurately, saving more time and easing the hustle. The
application of the Content-Based Prioritization Index is also expected to improve the
academic quality of Student, reaching continuity to hold periodic consultations with
their Academic Advisor. Since the consultation can be done without disturbing the
Academic Advisors off time, the latter can be contacted via campus network only.
