Abstract:
As one of the world’s biggest toy manufacturing company, PT. XYZ has several production processes which divided into several production area. Die Cut area is one of several production areas in PT. XYZ which handles the process of cutting fabric into smaller pieces. Currently, scheduling model in Die Cut area which uses earliest due date as the dispatching rule has not optimum yet, since there is still a late delivery which causes PT. XYZ has to pay additional cost as penalty cost given by vendor for exceeding due date. The total makespan to complete the whole 16 jobs took 71.002 hours and total cost that has to be spent is 881,680,000 IDR. The objective of this research is to find the optimum scheduling model which can reduce cost by minimizing total makespan and tardiness. In this research, availability of machines will be considered so the scheduling model will be more realistic and applicable to the real condition in Die Cut area at PT. XYZ. The total makespan obtained from proposed model which is non delay scheduling with working time window is 43.167 hours which means decreasing up to 39% while the cost is decreasing from 881,680,000 IDR to 561,180,000 IDR.
