Abstract:
Computer-mediated communication, an organization’s support to escort the enhance of internal communication. The
purposes of this research are to know the use of Slack in the scope of employees of Digital Service Division and to know the
way they communicate with each other, especially in following the flow of hierarchy. By using in-depth interview, the
research findings were collected from four employees who using Slack in Digital Service Division. Besides that, observation
done by the researchers to support the findings. Concerning the relationship between superior and employees, the
participants helped by the existence of Slack in getting information, discussion session, and even to decrease the hierarchy
to ease the communication flows. The participants contended by using Slack, employees in Digital Service Division have the
chance to express feelings without any barrier caused by the hierarchy of the organization and assumed that it depended by
the employees to determine whether they should use formal or informal.
