Abstract:
Traceability has become a requirement in PT. X Indonesia. It was triggered by toy
recalls happened in 2007 involving toys produced by PT. X Indonesia. The system
helps PT. X Indonesia to build a link that relates every single finished product in
market to production lot in PT. X Indonesia. However, the accuracy of traceability
process only reaches 98% indicating that the link does not work well. In order to
make sure that the link works, PT. X Indonesia has to do link verification many
times. This process of verification need to be eliminated since it involves an
average of 50 toys that need to verify. It also involves additional work, additional
worker and more consumables. This study was made to research factors that
influence the accuracy of the traceability process. The scope is traceability process
in final assembly area. The research methodology is the problem solving using
root cause analysis techniques. The raw data was provided by PT. X Indonesia
and limit only to period of October to December 2014. The study shows that there
were four factors that caused the inaccuracy which are the availability of the
barcode scanner, lack of training, fifo arrangement and wrong method of
scanning.
