Abstract:
Purposes: This research aims at knowing the travel intention of Indonesian’s before and after the announcement of Covid-19 outbreak in Indonesia.
Design/Methodology/Approach: Qualitative method was being used in this research by doing interviews through WhatsApp calls and chat. Data were collected from 20 respondents. Respondents were divided into two groups in this study, which are the people over 35 years old and the generation Z.
Findings: The research found that the travel intentions of both groups had been restrained by the occurring of recent pandemic, which is Covid-19. Both groups did travel often, but each of the respondents has different frequencies of doing travel per year. Both groups also had already planned their travel before the announcement given by the government. But the travel intention of Indonesian traveller is discouraged after the announcement from the government regarding Covid-19 outbreak in Indonesia and they take a preventive way by following the government’s appeal to just stay at home
Originality/Value:
This research analysed that travel intention of Indonesian traveller are being affected by the announcement given from the government regarding Covid-19 outbreak in Indonesia. Awareness of each of the respondents arise due to their own health, their own and others safety, and to support the country by following the mandate from the government regarding the spread of the virus.
